The padding is excellent, definitely thicker than other padded shorts I have. Although they are all shorts. The grip on the inside of the shorts at the bottom of each leg works very well so they do not easily ride up and it is not noticeable or uncomfortable during a ride. The padding makes long distance cycling enjoyable.
