Answer: I would say it is a medium weight fleece all polyester. It is warmer than a nylon shell vest. I have worn it in the mid to upper 50 degree range and was not to warm. It washes up nicely and does not loose its shape. You need to make sure the front and pockets are zipped when washing because as with many materials the zipper can get a wavy effect and not lay flat. It is very stylish, comfortable and runs true to size
